School Prom June 2014

Yet another occasion where Coedcae pupils did themselves proud! A convoy of limousines, vintage cars and camper vans and some very stylish chauffeur-driven vehicles arrived at the Mariott Hotel in Swansea in fantastic style!

Year 11 pupils arrived at the venue to be greeted like film stars. Parents/carers, staff and past pupils gathered to continue our tradition of a true community prom. Amidst the flashing lights of photography came an array of elegance, glitz and glamour from girls and boys alike. Top fashion magazines would have had a field day, as would hairdressers and beauticians alike!

A three-course dinner, chocolate fountain and an official photographer kept pupils and staff very busy! This was matched with speeches from our outgoing Head Boy, Dale, and Head Girl, Katie, who completed their presenation with a gift for their Pupil Support Leader, Miss Rose. Touched by their maturity and generosity Miss Rose and Assistant Headteacher, Mr Mort, thanked pupils for being outstanding school ambassadors over the past five years. With many awaiting college and others beginning their career at work, both Miss Rose and Mr Mort took the opportunity to with them well for the next stage of their journey. They will most certainly be missed.

Following such heartfelt and entertaining speeches, the award ceremony began and the humour continued to be shared warmly amongst all. Yes, Tim, we will always remember your hairstyle, Charlotte your punctuality, Tom, your means to make a million, to name but a few!!! Onto the 'Cha Cha Slide' and with pupils and staff throwing some moves together on the dance floor, time flew. 11:30 arrived before we could take a breath!

A truly superb evening;  a fantastic venue, beautiful food and the absolutely brilliant company of Year 11! See you all on "Results Day". Have a fab summer!
