Abernant Welsh Trip
A party of extremely excited Year 7 and Year 8 pupils left school on Friday afternoon to begin their journey to Abernant Lake Hotel in Llanwrtyd Wells.
Upon arrival the hotel met all our expectations - very swish! But there was no time to dawdle as the first activity was about to start!
Although Derek the weather man had tried to put a drizzly-damper on the activities, it would take more than weather to affect Coedcae pupils’ fun! They literally got ‘stuck in’ to all sorts of activities, some of which involved getting very wet and muddy. There was canoeing, kayaking, a blind trail, a climbing wall, zip wire, rifle-shooting, archery, fencing and much, much more.
The weather could do nothing to dampen their enthusiasm and even when the centre suffered a powercut, the pupils didn’t mind! In true Coedcae spirit they made the most of things by enjoying a pyjama party with hot chocolate! Olivia Rees-Jones was quoted as saying “It was really cosy and chocolatey, and I loved wearing my onesie”.
It’s safe to say that Abernant was simply FANTASTIC! Not only did the centre provide tasty food and a ridiculous range of activities, we also had the chance to do all of this through the medium of Welsh.
Some of the things the pupils said:
“Roedd hi’n bwrw glaw lot ond roedd yn ardderchog beth bynnag” Jordana Griffiths.
“Roedd yn oer!!! Ond ces i amser arbennig!” Dilan Rossiter.
“Roedd y ‘zip wire’ yn anhygoel!” Eliott Lewis.
